1. Sirius Black, Harry Potter series (obvi)

2. Amarie "Amma" Treadeau, The Caster Chronicles
Amma takes care of Ethan since his mother died and his father locked himself up in his study, leaving Ethan without parents so to speak. Amma is the standard Southern woman: she is very strict but sweet and is a great cook. She looks out for Ethan and Lena, to the extend that protecting him leads to him to turn his back on her, but Amma continues being a great protector and sticks it out to the end.

Elizabeth Bennet's father is funny and cynical. He wants the best for Elizabeth, unlike Mrs. Bennet who only wants their daughters to marry so she won't be thrown out of her house. When Elizabeth refuses Mr. Collins's proposal, Mr. Bennet says something which I think is quite golden:
"An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. From this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins, and I will never see you again if you do."
4. Charlotte and Henry Branwell, The Infernal Devices
They are the runners of the London Institute and take care of every underage Shadowhunter who lives there. In this case they are the guardians of Will, Jem and Jessamine (and later Cecily) and even though they are quite young themselves, they do a great job raising them. Though all of the youngsters don't listen to Charlotte and Henry, in the end they are their protectors and they actually do take their advice to heart.

5. Molly and Arthur Weasley (another from the Harry Potter series because there aren't that many great parents in literature)
Do I even need to explain this? They're the best people in the entire series, they're kind and sweet to everybody and they take care of everyone (especially Molly) like they're their own. I have nothing but praise for them and I'm actually kind of jealous of the Weasley kids.
