Thoughts On My Current BBB

If you follow me on youtube/booktube, you probably know that I'm on a six month book buying ban from November 16th, 2013 until May 16th, 2014. If not you can watch my video here!
The reason why I decided to go on a book buying ban (BBB) is because I had roughly 150 unread books in my possession and that needed to change. Therefore I decided to take action by coming up with the BBB as well as donating books to charity. I looked through my books and filled two boxes with the ones that I knew I would never read, books that I did read but didn't like and knew I would never reread and just books I didn't know why I even bought them in the first place (probably because they came from a charity shop for no more than €1 a piece). Together with my boyfriend, I brought them to a local charity shop and in those boxes where a total of 60 odd books.
A weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, because my unread books number went down to around 80. However two events took place which made that number go up by a lot. Firstly I broke my BBB by buying the Vampire Academy box set, which you can see here and a friend of mine donated around 30 books to me, which I showed in my latest book haul. My fix for new books had been met, but I stated in my original BBB video that I would let my viewers decide on a punishment.
I started this six month book buying ban because I wanted to save money and to stop buying a lot of books. However now something has changed in my personal life. Unfortunately I lost my job and now I feel like it would be a great time to cut my BBB short. Not because I have a lot of money to spend, but the other way around: I have no money to buy books and being on a BBB feels really oppressive and sad. And I don't want to feel depressed because of the book buying ban for no reason.
So I've decided to stop my 6 month book buying ban 2.5 months in advance. I can't "afford" books at this point and therefore the BBB seems rather useless. And another reason is that I want to buy myself a little cheer-up present and that will probably be a book and I don't want to feel bad about it because I should be on a book buying ban.
